Project Intern: my life next to the runway

Personal and Editorial Wardrobe Stylist
And here it is, my interview with the majorly edgy and chic Laura Ellner of www.OnTheRacks.com.  Enjoy~
JS: What about wardrobe, styling and ‘dress’ inspires you the most?
LE: I think styling and picking out outfits is such a great form of expression. It helps me to be creative…mixing and matching in unexpected ways. I try not to take fashion too seriously and just have fun with clothes — that is when I am most inspired.  JS: Where did you get your style eye from?
LE: I guess years and years of playing dress up! And I have been studying fashion magazines ever since I was old enough to get my hands on ‘em! JS: How do you describe your style?
LE: I like to describe my style as eclectic. I don’t really identify with any specific genre of style — I like to combine unexpected pieces (girly with edgy, etc.) and mix and match affordable and vintage items with an occasional designer splurge! JS: I truly love how you are a cross shopper…it inspires the readers to be creative on any budget?  What are some of your favorite lines (both designer and discount)?
My new favorites are Shakuhachi, My Pet Square and Style Stalker — they aren’t cheap but I always love when these brands go on sale! I am also a huge Alexander Wang fan. When it comes to affordable fashion I love Zara, H&M, and vintage. I am a huge sale shopper, too — I am always on the lookout for a great deal.
JS: You have TONS of amazing shoes…what are your favorites??
LE: That is like asking a mother to pick her favorite child! JK. ;)
I have a pair of polka dot Miu Miu sandals that I love. And my leopard Alexander Wang mules! My boyfriend just got me a pair of Jean Michel Cazabat booties for my birthday (smart guy, right?!), and I can’t stop wearing them.
JS: Headed to Chicago soon?!  We would love to have you. LE: I hope so! I visited for the first time a couple months back and immediately fell in love. Such a beautiful city!
Thanks Laura!  I can’t wait to see what you come up with next.
